Some Additional Information on this Excellent Ride:
- Programmed fuel injection (PGM-FI), fuel-injected 400cc DOHC parallel twin-cylinder engine
- Air injection system, exhaust catalyser (Almost the only bike with a catalyst convertor! Especially if you are a tree hugger ) and advanced digital mapping simultaneously reduce emissions of hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and oxides of nitrogen.
- Auto-enriching system eliminates the need for a manual choke.
- Sophisticated Honda V-Matic belt-drive system delivers seamless shifting and ample power at any speed. Twist and go, no changing of gears and no lubrication of any drive chain! Stage One delivers efficient, quiet power for around-town cruising; Stage Two provides increased power for moderate acceleration; and Stage Three provides maximum power for full acceleration and top speed.
- Combined Braking System (CBS) provides excellent braking power for added confidence in a wide range of operating conditions. Features a three-piston front calliper and a twin-piston rear calliper. Rider application of the front-brake lever activates the two outer pistons of the front calliper. Application of the rear-brake lever, mounted on the left handlebar, activates the dual pistons of the rear calliper and the centre piston of the front calliper. When only the rear-brake lever is used, an inline delay valve smoothes application of the front-calliper piston.
- Stunning aerodynamic styling that is also functional. The fully integrated bodywork envelops the rider in quiet luxury, with protection from the elements that enhances long-distance touring comfort.
- A large, lockable 55-liter under seat storage compartment can accommodate a briefcase or two full-face helmets. A convenience lamp illuminates the compartment in low-light conditions. A lockable 6-liter left-front storage compartment is joined by an additional 1.5-liter right-side storage compartment. A 12V accessory plug is installed in left-front storage compartment for your power needs such as Mobile phone/PSP/MP3/GPS chargers.
- Wide-and-low padded seat has an adjustable five-position rider backrest that adjusts over a 2-inch range. The long, wide passenger seat is very comfortable for all-day two-up riding. The locking seat opens to the front and is held open by a hydraulic damper, allowing easy loading of the storage compartment.
- Instrumentation includes an analogue speedometer and tachometer, with LCD digital displays for odometer, twin trip meters, fuel, clock and coolant temperature. Indicator lights display parking brake, fuel injection, V-Belt, high beam, oil pressure and coolant temperature.
- An easy-to-use cable-operated rear-disc parking brake is engaged by pulling a large handle on the upper-right panel. Pulling the handle again releases the brake.
- Honda's highly capable H.I.S.S. anti-theft system features a fail-safe electronic interlock that prevents the engine from being started in any other way than using the motorcycle's two original keys. Totally disabling the engine at the very heart of its ignition system, the system cannot be bypassed by either hot-wiring the ignition or exchanging the ignition switch module, thus effectively deterring joyriders and greatly reducing the possibility of ride-away theft.
